SEED groups are small groups that meet regularly and Support Each other Every Day, with a strong emphasis on spiritual formation. No matter where you are in your faith journey - from exploring questions about your faith to wanting to deepen your relationship with Christ - Harvest has a group for you. The Christian life is not meant to be lived alone. We were created for connection – with God and with one another. A wide variety of SEED groups are offered at Harvest throughout the year. A disciple is a follower of Jesus for life. Our faith journey involves us moving towards the following: a life conformed to Christ, informed by Scripture, committed to service, generosity, hospitality, and worship. Each person’s life of faith looks different as we grow in Christ. Harvest is striving to provide SEED groups that will meet everyone, including those who are just beginning to explore or are fully centered in their faith. This fall, we will continue using the following “Phases of Discipleship” to help everyone plug into a group: Exploring, Beginning, Deepening, and Centering.

Where are you?


How do you know which phase fits you best? Read the following general statements. If you find yourself identifying with one of the particular phases, you might choose to look for classes that are especially designed for this phase of the Christian journey. Of course, with few exceptions in classes that require a prerequisite, you are always welcome at Harvest to sign up for any group that seems a good fit for you and your desire to learn and grow.


Exploring – I would like to explore the concept of faith. I am searching for meaning in my life. There seems to be something missing. I’ve heard of God and Jesus, and I have questions to ask. I occasionally try reading the Bible, but it is so difficult to understand.

Beginning – The Christian beliefs and stories of Jesus are new to me, but I am ready to know more about how a relationship with Christ could change my life. I want to understand more about Jesus’ teaching through classes and my own study.

Deepening – I’m interested in in-depth studies that challenge my ideas and help me grow. I read the Bible often and sometimes sense the Holy Spirit’s guidance in my life. I’ve begun my faith journey and am excited about learning more. I’m ready to explore how others live out their faith, and am open to find out how God might move in my life.

Centering – I’m striving to make my faith the center of my life. I regularly read the Bible and am trying to respond as the Spirit leads me. As I continue to focus on my journey and continued growth, I am ready to reach out to others. What are my gifts and what is God’s calling for my life?
